Rates of suicide and mental ill-health are significantly higher in the music business than in many other industries. But, what does it mean to have a mental health crisis? And what should you do if someone nearby is experiencing one? Psychologists Rosana Corbacho and Dr Simon Rowbottom (frontman of the Boo Radleys) and psychotherapist Jodi Milstein will explain how to recognise signs and symptoms that indicate someone’s mental health has deteriorated to the point where they pose a risk to themselves or other people. We’ll teach you how to hold conversations about mental health and how to recognise and respond to panic attacks, mania, self-harm, and psychosis.

MITC is a global collective of psychotherapists, psychologists, and medical doctors who serve the music community as healthcare providers. MITC are uniquely positioned to deliver specialist workshops, seminars, and therapy having worked in the music business in various roles prior to retraining. Their landmark book, Touring & Mental Health: The Music Industry Manual provides expert advice for all those affected by the psychological, social and physical difficulties that can occur on the road, or as a result of touring. Touring & Mental Health: The Music Industry Manual is sponsored by Live Nation and will be published by Omnibus Press in March 2023.
