Aissata Hartmann-Sylla

I am senior director of booking, in charge of the programming for the Mercedes-Benz Arena and I also oversee the programming for the Verti Music Hall, which opened in the fall of 2018 as part of our entertainment district in Berlin.

I have a master’s degree in French & North American Literature and in African languages. During my studies, I worked for Hamburg-based promoter legend Karsten Jahnke and continued working for him after receiving my degree.

While I was still a student, I mainly worked in the ticketing department and then started booking tours with Karsten Jahnke for jazz acts such as Branford Marsalis, Herbie Hancock, Randy Crawford, to name a few.

In 2006, I received an offer to move to Munich and work for booking agency Triple M, where we booked acts such as Kelly Clarkson, Maroon 5, and Santana.

Since April 2017, I have been a board member of the Live Entertainment Summer School in Hamburg as part of the HM’s (Hamburg Music Business e.V.) Music Business Summer School, where we offer various panels for people in the business who want to gain further knowledge on topics such as artist contracts, taxation, settlements, etc.

Since December 2020, I have also been a board member of the newly established International Live Entertainment Summer School that is also part of the HM’s Music Business Summer School.
