Prior to ASM Global, Boyle served as president of Live Nation Japan.  Having taken the reins of that business in 2017, Boyle promoted concerts in Tokyo for U2, Bruno Mars, Taylor Swift, Maroon 5, John Mayer, and Backstreet Boys, among others and launched a Japanese edition of Download, the renowned British hard rock festival brand, that featured Ozzy Osbourne, Judas Priest, and Slayer.

Prior to that, as chief financial officer and chief growth officer of Insomniac Events, Boyle led the company’s business development and international expansion efforts, in addition to managing the company’s balance sheet and investment portfolio.  Upon joining Insomniac in early 2012, Boyle began and led the process of packaging Insomniac for what would become a massive bidding war to buy the company.  Ultimately, Boyle orchestrated the sale of 50.1% of Insomniac to Live Nation and continued to lead the transition and integration efforts between Insomniac and Live Nation post acquisition.

After the Live Nation acquisition, Boyle mainly focused on Insomniac’s international growth, launching the Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) festival brand in markets including the UK, Mexico, Brazil, India, Japan, China, and Korea.

Boyle began his music career while a UCLA undergrad promoting and producing concerts and also as a drummer and manager of LA rock band TomFoolery.  Realising he was better in business than with drumsticks, he launched Extreme Consulting, a music marketing and special events production company whose clients included the ESPN X-Games, the US Open of Surfing, and MAGIC (fashion trade expo), and produced concerts featuring Foo Fighters, No Doubt, Sublime, Blink-182, Run DMC, and The Offspring.

Boyle then became part of the team to launch The Warped Tour, overseeing sponsorship and marketing for its first two years.  Following that, he launched the SnoCore Tour, and for the next 12 years, Boyle owned and produced SnoCore whose touring acts included Black Eyed Peas, Sublime, Incubus, System of a Down, Blink-182, and Primus among many others.  He sold SnoCore to Wind-Up Records in 2007.

Simultaneous to Warped Tour, Boyle began his tenure as a record label executive.  He was first hired as director of marketing for Giant Records working for Irving Azoff.  He then segued to Virgin Records as senior director of A&R and marketing, and ultimately landed at Warner Bros. Records as VP of A&R & marketing.

Boyle then began managing acts, discovering then unknown Alien Ant Farm, who he signed to DreamWorks Records and went double platinum on their debut album.  Following this, he joined Sanctuary Artist Management, signing rapper Xzibit.  He led Xzibit to multi-platinum success and launched his acting career as star of MTV’s Pimp My Ride in addition to many film and TV roles.

Boyle holds a dual MBA from Columbia Business School in New York and the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley, as well as a BA in Economics from UCLA.
