Kurt Baker

Kurt Baker is the SVP, Global Marketing and PR at Neon Global.

An accomplished creative visionary with a flair for immersive storytelling through integrated marketing, publicity, and brand development, Kurt holds the top marketing post at NEON. He sits within the Global Executive Leadership Team, helming the marketing and PR teams worldwide. He is responsible for creation, development, and execution of campaigns representing Hollywood Studio IP brands such as Jurassic World, Avatar, Marvel Avengers, Transformers, Harry Potter, DC Comics, and The Hunger Games, as well as historical artifact brands from NEON’s World Heritage Exhibitions arm, including Ramses, Machu Picchu, Pompeii, Mummies, and Victoria T.rex. He also oversees trade marketing for Animax, NEON’s Robotics and Animatronics division.

Kurt draws upon more than 25 years of experience representing world-renowned brands and Hollywood Studios such as Disney, Marvel, NBCUniversal, Warner Bros., Hasbro, Sea World, Anheuser Busch, Monster Jam, and the Olympics. With the goal of transforming big ideas into lifelong, compelling, memorable experiences while maximiSing brand value and revenues, he delivers the highest quality entertainment options across a global landscape working with each region, country, and culture to personalise the experience.

Prior to joining NEON, Kurt led the International Brand Marketing Team as senior director at Feld Entertainment where he developed and cultivated a portfolio of brand and marketing assets representing 15 global touring productions of Disney On Ice, Marvel Universe LIVE!, DreamWorks Trolls The Experience, Disney Live! and Monster Jam, entertaining millions of families in more than 75 countries on six continents.

With an early start to his eclectic professional career in the entertainment industry, he began running sound and SFX for Sea World® of Ohio, where he was quickly identified as a leader, awarded the SWO Motivation Award and catapulted into a supervisory position for the 200-person Entertainment Department. Leveraging his acumen for leadership in entertainment, he was assigned to many public relations efforts for Busch Entertainment Group, traveling the US and representing Anheuser Busch handling the efforts around Izzy the official mascot of the Atlanta 1996 Summer Olympics.

Shortly thereafter, he moved to Los Angeles, and after a quick dabble in television working for Spelling Entertainment, he began a 12-year journey in the ranks at Disney, where he was exposed to the studio leaders helping manage projects for Roy E. Disney and Michael Eisner, including the 75th Anniversary of The Walt Disney Company and the Disney Legends Award Ceremony. Soon he was recruited to head up Special Events for Disney Theatrical Group, throwing million-dollar events for Broadway and Touring versions of The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, and Elton John & Tim Rice’s AIDA. He eventually transitioned to licensee management of PR and brand marketing.

Kurt is a media-trained global leader and world traveler with cross-cultural expertise and an appetite for adventure and exploration. He leverages his international network of industry leaders to bring fresh new ideas to the ever-evolving marketing and publicity global landscape.
